London. – Two of the country’s top three athletes will run on the Olympic Park’s track, looking to put Dominican Republic’s name in the medals board of the London Games for the first time.

Luguelín Santos reached the finals after easily winning the third heat in the semifinals Sunday with 44.78 seconds.

He said he he’s in prime condition to run a good 400-meter race today. "I'm fine, I had another good race and I’m giving everything to get on top."

And Athens gold medal Felix Sanchez also showed prime condition by winning his semifinal heat in the 400 meter hurdles.

Beijing Taekwondo silver medalist Gabriel Mercedes is Dominican Republic’s third athlete with a solid chance to win a medal.

VERY NICE FOR HIM
BUT,
Electricity and Lightbulb - History

Thomas Edison's greatest challenge was the development of a practical incandescent, electric light. Contrary to popular belief, he didn't "invent" the lightbulb, but rather he improved upon a 50-year-old idea. In 1879, using lower current electricity, a small carbonized filament, and an improved vacuum inside the globe, he was able to produce a reliable, long-lasting source of light. The idea of electric lighting was not new, and a number of people had worked on, and even developed forms of electric lighting.
HE TOOK PEOPLE OUT FROM THE DARK
WELL FOR MOST NOT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WHICH MANY SPEND 1/2 THEIR LIVES LIVING IN THE DARK
THE YEAR 1879, ITS NOW 2012 AND COMING UP ON THE YEAR 2013 BUT STILL PRES COME AND GO AND STILL NOT 24/7 LUZ AND NO EDUCATION, BUT WE HAVE THE CHOO CHOO TRAIN AND THE BLUE MALL.

Santos is going to kick some ass. gold medal..Felix is looking the best i have seen him. he is running more mature than before, and is going to win it, also. it is a shame that the gymnast last night lost her composure, or she would have gotten a bronze. she got flusteredat the start, and it was all downhill. she has the goods, and she is young enough to go to Brazil.

Dreadlocks is the other way lane5 is the best , when any runner post the best time is awarded the best starting line, onless he or she choses other way.... For 400, 200 ,100

Lanes 4 and 5 are the best for shorter distances, lane 7 and 8 the worst because of wind and audience noise, heat factors.
In long distance events, other lanes are preferred.

lane 5 is perfect for the 400, which is still considered to be a sprint event

you could be right on that. James is a great 400 runner. i will keep my fingers crossed, although it would be great to see a medal for Grenada.
