Hermosillo, Mexico.- Ricardo Nanita’s deep line drive broke a 5-5 tie in 11th inning Sunday morning, extending the Santo Domingo’s Leones winning streak to three, beating Mexico home team Yaquis de Obregon 6-5 to close the Caribbean Series’ first round .

Julio Lugo pinch-hit to right field against Luis Ayala, then advanced to third by another liner by Jose Ramirez, and Jordany Valdespín was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Hanley Ramirez grounded to short and forced Lugo out at the plate, but Nanita’s blast to right-center secured the win, pushing the Yaquis to third place with a 1-2 record.
