New York.- Dominican Victor Estrella Burgos, 34, became on Tuesday the oldest debutant, defeating Dutch Igor Sijsling 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2, at the U.S. Open, as well as the first Dominican player to earn a Grand Slam victory.

Estrella came back from down a set and a break to beat Sijsling while the Dominican fans in the audience encouraged him singing "Victor, Victor." In the second round he will face Croatia's Borna Coric, 17.
