Local sprinter takes first in Italian competition

Italy.- As a phoenix rising from the ashes, sprinter LuguelínSantos on Tuesday clocked 45.21 seconds to win first place in the 400 meterdash of the 52nd annual games Palio Citta della Quercia, MemorialEdo Benedetti.

The Olympian silver medalist led the Jamaican RusheenMcDonald, whose time was 45.52 seconds while the also Jamaican Renny Quown tookthird with 45.85 seconds.

It’s Santos’ first major competition after an injury haltedhis participation in the Olympic Games in Rio.
