SANTO DOMINGO.- The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) aims to implement a "Project to Develop a Culture of Quality in the Dominican Software industry," and entails a national strategy to train human resources, hold seminars and conferences.
ITLA director Jose A. Tavárez said doctor Hanna Oktaba, general coordinator of Mexico State University’s Software and Technology of Information Development Unit, came to the country to offer her experience as part of ITLA’s effort to bring the topic to the fore.
He said as an academic institution and an important part of the country’s technological development strategy, the ITLA is responsible for promoting training and for getting businesses to understand the great opportunities and importance of developing the local software industry.
Tavárez said the local industry has to improve with better productivity to open the opportunity to access other markets.
