Our Dominican mentality:

Why should I pay the proper amount for legal software if I can steal it? I can buy bootleg software for one tenth the price. If I am crafty enough to get it and save this money, how can anyone complain?

I AM ENTITLED.

Universities should distribute linux and linux applications free to local busnesses and government departments after simple testing ; maybe offer support at cost. This would cut import bills for software.

Although an admirable goal - completely unrealistic!

How can you decrease the credit rating on the organizations and banking systems in the Dominican Republic that are using pirated software in the first place.....

Kind of like doing a self assessment and stating in a letter - "We are being compliant" - but that letter is being written on a pirated copy of MS Office.

Having a good credit score can make it much easier to apply for a mortgage or auto loan.
