Santo Domingo.– Claro started telephone service on the Saona Island with fixed wireless equipment that with the help of external antennas will allow the signal to reach houses.

The service, which is supported by the Dominican Telecom Institute (Indotel), was inaugurated by a call carried out from the office of the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources on the island to Indotel consultant Edwin San Roman.

Claro is carrying out the needed high priority work required to provide the infrastructure for a permanent solution for telephone communications on the island.

And just what is Claro doing about our DSL Dominican slow lines. No wonder this Mex is the richest man in the world. High prices with poor service = major profits.

Claro is the best of the worst. I would rather see them fix their never ending problems before spreading themselves even thinner than they already are
Their constant dropped calls, slow internet connections and "congestion messages".

LOL..how many people live on Saona Island? And those that service the tourist trade...what now? With phone service they can spend all day texting instead of providing services!

Love un-needed technology!

LOL no texting or talking on the cell phone while racing through the blue waters to reach Saona Island first.

Heck they have enough to do on their hands with out bumping into each other.
