Santo Domingo.- News source diariolibre.com on Monday published the registry numbers of U.S. “robot” planes allowed to overfly Dominican airspace, after the government reached an agreement with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

It listed a Learjet N 7734T, Cessna ATR's Citation N5852K, N313 CGT and N366FM and King Air N430JT, NI667J, N4982R, N841DE, N7033U, N959DE and N846DJ.

President Leonel Fernandez authorized the drones’ flyover since last year, on recommendation by then military adviser, Maj. Gen. Rafael Peña Antonio.

The aircraft operations began April 2012 and conclude next April 1.

Diariolibre.com said the information is in the reports from the Executive Branch’s Legal Advisor sent to Congress, which also allowed over-flights by the "Predator" to detect ships and aircraft to halt drug shipments.

The agreement was part of a visit from U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in July last year.

One of the better tools to fight the drug war and guess it must have hurt to many of the kickbacks. Put up a "Fat Albert " blimp up on the south coast and watch the boats coming and going

None of these appear to be 'drones', but what are all these 'over flights' supposed to accomplish. Seems a lot of planes, perhaps these only over fly on an occsional basis. Are any of these rendition flights? With radar and super Tucano's what do we need these snoops about for?
