Medina cuts the ribbon on US$110+M solar power plant(Update)

Santo Domingo.- In a ceremony headed by president Danilo Medina, the General Energy Solutions a Taiwanesecompany leader in solar power generation, on Tuesday placed in operation theregion’s largest solar panel project “Monte Plata Solar” in that easternprovince.

Monte Plata Solar started the operations of thefacility built by subsidiary Soventix Caribbean, with an output of 30megawatts in its first phase, with more than 132,000 solar panels.

The project is Taiwan’s biggest ever investment in theDominican Republic, exceeding US$110 million once concluded.

Monte Plata Solar will be connected to the national gridand marks a milestone in the country’s sustainable development, diversifyingthe power generation.
