Santo Domingo.- The Diagnostics and Advanced Medical Center (Cedimart) presented this Thursday the first implant artefact for a patient suffering from a cerebral ailment.

It is the first time ever that any such surgery is practiced in the country.

The artefact, denominated Neuroform Stens, was placed into a 47-year old patient suffering from a cerebral malfunction.

According to neurologist Luis E. Suazo, the device substitutes a major brain surgery.

The doctor stated that, once the device is installed, the patient does not require medication and that a minimal hospitalization of 24 to 48 hours is required.

Suazo said that, in the United States, the device is valued at US$45,000, but that in the coutry, the artefact cost US$2,500, since it is sponsored by a foundation.

hehe, that's not really a brain transplant, but many people need that especially in our congress.
