Washington.– In an ironic twist of events, NBC and the CW Television Network efuse to air ads for a documentary focusing on freedom of speech.

NBC Claims that the Network “cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush.”

The CW Television Network that the Network Does “Not have Appropriate Programming in which to Schedule this Spot”

NBC and The CW Television Network have taken a stand against the Dixie’s Chicks new documentary “Shut Up & Sing” a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible political and media fallout that occurred in 2003 after the Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines said that she was "ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

“Shut Up & Sing” opens in theaters in NY and Los Angeles on Friday and in theaters nationwide on November 10th.

NBC responded to a clearance report submitted by the Weinstein Company’s media agency saying that the network “cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush.”

The CW Television Network responded that it does “not have appropriate programming in which to schedule this spot.”

Famed litigator David Boies stated, “It is disappointing and troubling that NBC and The CW would refuse to accept an otherwise appropriate ad merely because it is critical of President Bush."

Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company stated, “It’s a sad commentary about the level of fear in our society that a movie about a group of courageous entertainers who were blacklisted for exercising their right of free speech is now itself being blacklisted by corporate America. The idea that anyone should be penalized for criticizing the president is sad and profoundly un-American.”

The Weinstein Company is exploring taking legal action.

It's no surprise that NBC won't run the ad, because NBC is owned by General Electric, who profits handsomely from the Iraq slaughterama.

NBC is for all intents and purposes a propaganda organ for the Bush administration. Their parent company General electric has made billions from the lives of dead American soldiers thanks to the Iraqi and Afghan wars. In defending Bush they are betraying america.

How utterly ridiculous.

From the article:
NBC Claims that the Network “cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush.”

Are you kidding me? Exactly what nation is this, NBC? You know what other group would probably try to censor this type of media due to it being 'disparaging' to a 'leader'? Al Qaeda, and Terrorists across the globe.

Congrats, NBC. You are the new Al Qaeda.

I was born inTexas, as were my mother, grandfather, great grandparents, and those who of indigenous ancestry before that. I have been ashamed that the current incumbent in the White House accounts himself a Texan. He is not a native!
In 2004, traveling in Europe, one of our group returned to the tour ship saying, "This is the first time in my life I've been ashamed to be an American." She doesn't have a film coming out.
Liberty is lost!

Our rights as a citizen says that we can speak our thoughts without being censured. I believe that NBC is wrong to not give both sides of a story. The Dixie Chicks should not be disparaged just because they do not agree with the President. Where is bipartisanship reporting. Apparently it is lost at NBC.

AMERICA: FREEDOM TO FASCISM "FOUR STARS (Highest Rating). The scariest damn film you'll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theatre, slack-jawed and trembling. Makes 'Fahrenheit 9/11' look like 'Bambi.' After watching this movie, your comfy, secure notions about America -- and about what it means to be an American -- will be forever shattered: WATCH THIS EYE OPENING DOCUMENTARY HERE:

What is this country coming to? I'm reminded of Nazi Germany.

I don't give allegience to the President-dictator. My allegience is to the Republic, to Liberty!
