SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Health will continue this weekend the actions for prevention and control of dengue initiated by Minister of Public Health in 26 districts of the Santo Domingo Municipalities.
This weekend’s work will be dedicated to controlling the propagation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito that transmits the disease in the southern regions of the city of Santo Domingo.
Doctor Bautista Rojas Gomez, Public Health Minister said that during the weekend the fumigation actions will be aimed at scholastic centers of the National District and the Santo Domingo province.
All the vehicles assigned to the Ministry will be added to the eradication of the mosquito during the weekend, added doctor Rojas.
The Minister, who described as normal the dengue situation in the country, said the disease is under the security levels, he requested calm from the population and invited all Dominicans to add them selves in the endeavor by eliminating standing water in their residence’s proximity.
Bautista Rojas Gomez reiterated "until now the country is at no risk and we are not experiencing pandemic proportions, the level of reported cases is within normal numbers, we are just preventing it from growing as we do every year”.
