BONAO, Dominican Republic.- Natives of the town Baitoa, one of the first to have a large part of its population emigrate to New York, held its yearly gathering of expatriates and residents, in this occasion in this central city.

Four generations of Baitoeros got together in an atmosphere of family love and respect for traditions dating back to the town’s founding in the mid 1800s, and from as early as the 1920s, its residents became the first to emigrate to New York City.

Members of the founding families Diaz, Fernandez, Genao, Nuñez, Peña, Perez, Pineda, Sanchez, among others, enjoyed the tradition festivity, to mark the start of the Christmas celebrations.
