SANTO DOMINGO.- President Leonel Fernandez last night said he’ll urge Congress to approve a bill of guarantees and incentives produce films in the country, and the Government will implement all initiatives to promote that industry here.

The chief executive spoke with journalists before inaugurating the second Dominican Global Cinema Festival, in the National Theater, with the debut of the film Sugar, a U.S. film on the story of a Dominican baseball player who wants to reach the Major Leagues to take his family out of poverty.

Fernandez said the festival aims to attract celebrities, such as film directors, producers, actors, with the participation of Dominican artists.

he is already in some kind of dreamland....maybe Dummyland is correct or Ladronyland maybe with a cast of thousands and scenes that will make you cringe in terror.....we are not waiting for the lights to go down...they are already off.....Coming Soon......no it has arrived

You need electricity to make movies. This is just an excuse to name a couple of new ministers and 30 or 40 vice ministers to WHACKLAWOODYLAND!!

mayimbe, I think Dolly Parton might have some objections to the use of the name "DOLLYWOOD", how about " FOLLYWOOD"? translation= "LOCURALANDIA", actually I kind of like that one!
