Santo Domingo.- Top fashion designer Oscar de la Renta,  with over 40 years in the industry, made an impact with his haute couture Resort collection that is both hyper-elegant and luxurious.

His presence is always keenly awaited at the world’s top fashion week events.

The “Resort Collection 2009” was presented at a charity gala at the National Palace, the fifth of its type organized by the First Lady’s office.

The collection features styles for all seasons, including evening wear with long dresses and mermaid skirts, glamorous prints and embroidery.

De la Renta has created colorful sleeveless, figure hugging dresses and wide-legged, high-waisted slacks. For evening wear, his dresses revolve round female elegance, and classic tailored designs and nineteen fifties-style skirts were also in evidence.
