Santo Domingo.- The Nacional supermarkets announced the contest “Area Verde" (green area) aimed at college students of interior design, architecture and related careers.

Nacional Marketing vice president Mary Frances Attias said the contest aims to challenge the creativity of students in creating living spaces that respect the environment.

She said first place will receive a RD$60,000 prize and the option of a 6 month internship in any of the group's companies.

This is wonderful, we definately need to take care of our "green areas", moreover we need to find out the way to make the population be aware of how important our Natural Resources are.

More than blaming instiutions for managing uncorrectly our natural resources, why dont we compromise ourselves to make use of our natural resouces without causing too much damages to them?

I'm Dominican and I know twe dont care for the enviroment and enjoy destroying it.

This sounds great to me. It is time to start doing things like this for our environment. If we looked at the Natural Resources that we got, we would take a look to our future. I considere myself as a worried dominican, because of our bad Natural resources managenment. I really appreciate this. I would also like to recommend you to invest more in our Youth people, by giving them the opportunity to help our Country out.
