Santo Domingo.- Four unidentified people were arrested in Dominican Republic accused of extorting the Spanish singer David Bisbal, demanding a large amount of money in exchange for not divulging private information allegedly stolen from his e-mail.
The arrests were carried out jointly by Dominican Police and agents of Spain’s Telematic Crimes Unit, who came to the country to conduct the investigation in November when they learned of the messages received by the singer.
Detainees obtained information from an e-mail account the singer used for professional contacts with his record producer and the suspects demanded a large amount of money for the artist should deposit in bank accounts in various countries.
The network’s alleged ringleader, a psychologist, is a "fan" of the singer, and had the e-mail’s password.
