Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez will decorate Egyptian actor Omar Sharif, stellar figure of the 3rd Dominican Global Cinema Festival, slated for November 18, said the organizers today.

The recognition will be take place in the National Palace, where Fernandez will also host a luncheon for the veteran actor that same day.

Sharif, 77, will visit Dominican Republic from Cairo tomorrow, together with several relatives, his wife Mariana Zherdeva and his son Tarek Omar el Sharif among them.

His jump to fame came about when director David Lean wanted English-speaking Arab actors for his epic film ‘Lawrence of Arabia’.

the remake and sequel was even better it starred Josean and was called " Flowrence of Arabia "
