Well this may not be a carnival Dr 809, but you still will be able to see a lot of clowns.

The bums will not raise the salaries of our doctors who provide a much more needed socially valuable services to the population, but they want a $75,000 peso per month raise for themselves!

How can it be so, liberator, cuz' last time I checked, dominicans have been on the island longer. And no, you can't get off the hook by using the cheap "they were spaniards" excuse, cuz' the dominican people, despite being subjected to spanish domination, had their own culture and customs way before Bertrand D'Ogeron set foot on the western part and founded Saint Domingue francais on 1661 (from whence the first part your country's origins can truly be traced, being the western part deserted at the time when he and his band of cutthroats made their usurpation, the second source of origin being when the kreyol ayisien language appeared on the 1750's), plus, on the spanish Santo Domingo colony, only whites had the right to name themselves as spaniards, and the DR's population have always been coloured in its majority, so I think you should check that claim of yours carefully.

In fact, the very first carnival of the island (of the whole continent, in fact) happened on La Vega during the first years of the 1500's, so again, you have to consider your facts carefully before making your statements, specially when you have the chance of encountering historical and cultural moguls fighting them. If you doubt what I say, check for it on the web, it's all over the place.

I think I am correct. But I am humble enough to recheck my facts.

How so, if I may ask?
