Santo Domingo.- The Cisneros Foundation celebrated the first quarter of collaboration with the Fund for Development Inc. (FONDESA), aimed at promoting viable development projects that contribute to the social and economic improvement  of the inhabitants of the town Miches (northeast).

The alliance, forged in September, 2008, will allow a permanent institutional cooperation to expand its projects in the areas of education, the Cisneros Foundation specialty, and micro-finances, Fondesa’s specialty.

The celebration of the agreement took place in Miches, in the presence of executives of the Cisneros Foundation, FONDESA, municipal officials, representatives of the bank Popular, and officers of the Armed Forces Vocational Schools, outstanding personalities of the area and residents of Miches.

In his speech FONDESA president Cristian Reyna said the organization has granted around 100 micro-credits of nearly four million pesos in just three months, to generate business activity and around 103 jobs in Miches.

Moreover, Adriana Cisneros de Griffin, president of the Cisneros Foundation said the entity is committed to develop not only the education initiatives in Latin America, but also sustainable development projects with social, environmental and economic programs that promote and expand the Development Objectives of the Millennium, in Miches.

She said the alliance with FONDESA has been essential to expand the Cisneros Foundation’s impact in the economic area and to bolster the contribution in the area’s education in Miches.

I'm in favor for all types of measures that ensure the prosperity of Miches, Nicibon, and El Seibo; But, what is this fixation that these Cisnero foreign (Cuban-Venezuelan) interests have in the country?
Why arre they forging allegiances with the Armed Forces of a sovereign country?
If they are Venezuelans they should not meddle in Dominican affairs to extent that the Department of Defense has to be beholden to them; This is a corruption of a free country's principles.

*Gustavo listed David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, and Washington lawyer Vernon Jordan as personal friends.

Arsenio,

The Cisneros promote education on a worldwide basis and his (Gustavo's) foundation is one the most active in all Latin American countries. Besides being the owner of one of the largest privately held companies in the world he also gives back to the people. Many people rank his charitable contributions with the ranks of Bill Gates in terms of scope and accomplishments.

It is really absurd! I can not believe that some of these guys here are even attempting to talk this positive acts into malicious intentions from the Cisneros Foundation.. Do you guys have the two nerve endings that produce negativeness connected together or something like that? It is really ridiculous that all you post is garbage!
