Asuncion.– Dozens of young people were injured in clashes between police and fans
unable to get into the concert of the Dominican musical group Aventura
in Asuncion, a number of sources said Saturday.
As the bachata
group began its concert Friday night at the Club Olimpia soccer
stadium, outside the gates thousands of youths tried to force their way
through the police cordon to get in and see the show.
“There were a lot of people getting in line to
enter, when suddenly there was an avalanche of people and the blue
helmets (anti-disturbance police) began to push them back and some were
injured,” said one of the young people, who blamed the organizers for
the incident.
Several youths, injured from falling down or being
hit by clubs or rubber bullets, were taken to a hospital emergency room
for treatment.

was this the headline act ....or just a warm up act .....
You stupid these guys are making more money then the majority of the Dominican artist today...
Almost the Latin American Artist...
They sell out all the time, they should be the ones investing in DR.
They actually take a "short" on revenue just to preform for Dominicans....
With the Travel restrictions off Cuba they should head there next...even if they won't make a lot of money...

amazin the drastic measures people take just to witness this group. are they really that breathtaking?

I read it GC, I am aware... actually if you ask me I think removing the embargo might change the country. Like the Cubans I know say, that Castro uses the embargo to his advantage.
Lifting the Embargo might remove the Castro family out of power in 5 years.
Who knows if the Fanjul or the Bacardi Family gets their property back?
Bacardi Family Helped Castro in the revolution, But the Fanjul Family is under controversy till today.
By him NOT removing the embargo I say he is NOT the messiah of hope, but removing travel restriction is something that the Cubans can not disagree on.

From what I read on Paraguayan newspaper, the problem stated when the concert was sold out (20 thousand) and somebody falsified an extra 10 thousand tickets (this is typical there), as people were turn back all hell broke loose. Of note; Aventura been in Paraguay twice and people love the group.

If those idiots go to Cuba that would be the end of them in Florida, so they are not that stupid

"Screaming goat hooked on Brugal" -- absolutely hilarious. At work just cracking up..... :) Man, it's good to laugh about something -- generally there's so much bad news about our DR that it's refreshing being able to make light of something.

The DR has its rising crime figures, but its still one of the safest countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.. I just hope our law enforcement agencies put a stop to the rising crime sometime soon before it gets out of control

Hasta a Paraguay llego la Bachata. Yesterday I was thinking how that's the only Latin American nation that I've never met anyone from! I'm not an Aventura fan but they've taken our music to the world. That's for damn sure.
