Santo Domingo.– More than 20 musical performers will get together for a concert in support of the preservation of Los Haitises, Sunday, 19 July at 4pm at Plaza de España, in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone.
Lyrics and music are being written especially for the event, aimed at convincing the Dominican Mining Consortium to relocate its cement plant to a less vulnerable location. Los Haitises, a karst region in northeastern Dominican Republic, is considered the main source of water for the south and eastern regions.
Amon the artists who will participate to raise their voices against the cement plant are Calor Urbano, Marel Alemany, Janio Lora, Pavel Nunez, Gnomico, Pablo Cavallo, Victor Victor, Son Abril, Grado Celcius, Cayhao, Sociedad Tabu, Juango Davalos, Diego Mena, Nelson Poket, Xiomara Fortuna, Marte o Venus, Tony Almont and DJ Visionario.
Frank Ceara, Karina Larrauri, Aura Rosa, Bolivar Soto, Mario Peguero, Anina Rodriguez, Mauvie Espinosa, Larimar Fiallo, Nashla Bogaert, Milton Cordero (Lechuga), Daniela Espinal, Hector Anibal and Maryanne Fernandez will be MC'ing the event.
