Also Santiago’s Monumento

Dajabón, Dominican Republic.- More than 100 children accompanied by Juanistas Sisters of Wanament, Haiti, teachers of the Creative Workshops as well as the migrant area  coordinator of the Jesuit Refugees and Migrants Service, and Border Solidarity, visited Santiago’s Centro Leon and the monument to the Heroes of the Restoration.

The main interest of the excursion by the border youngsters was to see historical places and of social and artistic development, such as the Centro Leon, one the Caribbean’s best.

The agronomist Benigno Ricardo Toribio, head of the area of migrants, said the activity is part of the efforts to weave culture and organization into education in two urban zones and seven under extreme poverty in the Dominican Republic.
