Men and women whose work gave us our identity as a nation? They tried! Traitors and blind historians can't still see that their work was rejected and instead, a Spanish' status quo denying them a chance to give a new identity to the new nation which they, denominated "Dominican Republic" to let Haitians know that the name of our island, shared with them, was Santo Domingo and not Haiti. Today we should celebrate de Independence of Quisqueya, with date retroactive 166 years to 1844, because that was eventually the name they chose for our nation after the Restoration of Independence. Our National Anthem so records. We should force Haiti to name the Island Santo Domingo (or Saint Domingue) in her constitution, to honor what Duarte and the Trinitarian fought for, then name our nation Quisqueya.
