To get what he wants, Trump would praise satan for being a good boy scout. What benefit, if any, will Trump's investment, and things like that, bring to the Dominican people? Now we can brag that Trump has a complex in the DR... That and $75 buys me a Beer.

We shuold turn away from these mega projects, and tuen to internal, equitable, and sustainable development...

There are ways to look at this. Mr.T. has his mind set into making +++wealth and it doesnot matter the location. He just selects and places his trade mark. He set a selling record in four hours(67properties)each sold for a million plus US.
The tax laws stated that each property value at more than 5 million pesos pays a tax. Lets do the math that is more than 20m. in property tax/year and do not forget the yatchs that comes with 80% of the owners mucho gas. Just keep our beach clean & bring jobs

Mr. Trump's celebrity and money has enabled him to have a successful relationship with the Dominican government. Any other investor without celebrity status would not be able to break through the government's deep pockets. Unfortunately he does not know the true business atmosphere nor does he understand the millions of Dominican people his project won't affect. I challenge him to take a look at the beautiful country outside of resort life.

i AM ALWAYS DISAPOINTED AT THE DOMINICAN GOVERNMENT BECAUSE INSTEAD OF DONALD TRUMP MAKING THIS PROJECT IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WHY THE DOMINICAN GOVERNMENT DIDN'T MAKE THIS PROJECT TO MAKE MONEY FOR THE COUNTRY. INTEAD SOMEELSE CAME A MAKE MONEY WITH OUR COUNTRY. THIS SITUATION WOULD NEVER CHANGE BECAUSE WE DON'T OWNED THE COUNTRY ANYMORE BECAUSE THE GOVERMENT SOLD IT TO INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS.

there is a lively debate on this subject in this forum, which is always a healthy thing to have.the gravamen of this style of development is the benefit that accrues to the populace.forget about the politicos and real estate moguls who are lining their pockets from these gambits. no real benefit reaches those that really need help. the reality of the situation is that the country is being sold off piecemeal to wealthy foreign concerns, folks that see the dr as their little tropical playground.

trump,contd.
when the weather becomes oppressive in their parts of the world, they can jump in the lear jet and shimmy on over to the golf course in their gated communities; the ones that local dominicans can see at a distance that is considered safe by the trump posse:every day some press release joyfully announces that some other external concern is buying this and selling that. this,my friends,is colonialism all over again. the land and resources belong to the people.

the people must live in an environment they consider to be their home.there are entire communities that have been sold off wholesale to foreign investors.these colonies have their own rules of exclusion for locals, who end up as second class citizens in the land of their birth, watching massa tee off at the seventh hole, strutting around like the lord of the manor, while the poor dominicans ponder the next meal.this cannot be considered praiseworthy development.it smacks too much of the colonial era

Gosh! you know, I'm dominican, but I feel like insulting my own people because, they are so laid back. People say that are friendly, but they are friendly because they are too ignorant to realize what is going around them. ANd yet they praise those foreign investor while they fr&%%n exploiting theland and its reosurces. Let's face it, Dominican Republic is becoming a memory, it is screwed up, nobody is willing to fight for their own country.
