Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Republic offers the best value of the top all-inclusive destinations, while Jamaica is starting to see lower rates, but it doesn't offer the quality and value of Mexico and the Dominican Republic, said Juan Aguirre, vice president of Miami-based tour operator MK Travelplan.

Airfare to the bigger destinations like Mexico and the Dominican Republic also tends to be lower, especially compared with islands in the eastern Caribbean.

Price and style vary significantly, from luxury boutique hotels charging $700 per room in low season to sprawling campuses with basic rooms that cost less than $200. "All-inclusive can mean anything today."

PR is a welfare quasi state used to living off the pork from the USA government and federal agencies.
Crime rate is horrendous and armed car jackings an everyday thing. Beaches are not very nice except in Culebra island, and hotels are very expensive. You add all this to the high cost of taxis, car rentals, food, hotels and rigged gambling casinos and you have a recipe for tourism disaster.
Now that the democrats are probably going to win , Puerto Rico should get their share of federal monies sent to them gratuitously, more so if they have the excuse of a nearby tropical storm or benevolent hurricane so they can wiggle their empty cup at the US and demand emergency federal funds to pay for the damage as they are used to.
Without the federal lifeline Puerto Ricans would have to work for a living instead of living in a quasi welfare state pretending that they are rich.

Puerto Ricans treat all Dominicans badly not only me. They forget that at one time they were migrating to
DR frantically looking for work at all costs.
Now they are "superior" to Dominicans just because their standard of living is higher because of all the US help.
"NOT TRUE" the level of general culture of Ricans is lower than most Dominicans and for sure they are a lot dumber. This shows in their very violent society and high crime rates.
So they may be richer as far as statistics but otherwise they are much poorer.
The thing that bothers me the most is that some of them speak broken english and they pretend not to speak Spanish or they speak very little to show off their "superiority" which is BS because
you can be multilingual and speak and write many different languages as some of us do and not have this superiority attitude towards your less fortunate.

Hey GC what's your story anyway?
You travel around quite a bit and people here say that you are an old Cuban fart is that true?
How come you move around so much?
If it is illegal or secret or something I really don't want to know, I got enough trouble worrying about
everybody going broke fast and trying to stay afloat at least for a few more years.
It's day by day here but al least is not cold like up north, and here in DR we can be the nicest or the meanest people on earth because we are hot tempered latins. But we can always jump on top
of a mango tree and eat a bunch of mangos or cook a green platano with eggs in the morning and be full until evening.

When the United States has a cold, the rest of the word begins to sneeze. The US still controls the consumption of the world. It still controls the economy. The Euro grew to $1.61 in Feb 2008 and now is at $1.20. Bavaro where I have all my money is slowed down to no sales and less rentals. The United States will be declaring bankruptcy in the next 6 months. They owe more than 10 trillion dollars and cannot and will not be able to pay even the interest. It may take time but the DR, even thought the strongest island in the carribean, will slow down to a complete stop. In March 19,2009 the US will begin to spiral down into a depression and banks and financial institions will fail in quantities never seen before. The tumble will not stop until June 2011. The good news is that its better to be under a coconut tree next to the ocean knowing that this is going to happen, than if we dont. Prepare yourself to hold on and take the adivise of the person that said to bring the $100 and give away t

Is this some sort of cult dooms day forecasts?

your funny

no the information is from one of the most famous economist in the world, Martin Armstrong. He has advised four US presidents, not Bush. Margaret Thancher, the country of Japan and the country of China. He is a billionaire and has predicted the last 30 years of the stock market to the day. Google him, or leapfish.com him.
In some of his sights you will find a book called "Its Just the TIme."
He has been telling me for 6 months and I have not listened. Now I have been looking at the forest and not the tree and shit. YOU AINT SEEN NOTHING YET !

I did google him and found out this:
Martin Armstrong, former chairman of Princeton Economics International Ltd., and now prisoner #12518-050 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan. Known for his analytical models of market timing, Armstrong’s cycles-based models have had some spectacular successes.[1]

He won't be out of the cooler until 2011.
You must find better sources my friend!
