Santo Domingo.- American Airline subsidiary American Eagle announced it will suspend flights between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Samaná, a destination it will provide service with flights from Miami, city with many Dominicans and other Hispanics.

American Eagle said it will also reduce the number of flights from San Juan to other cities, suspensions it says results from a reconstruction process.

I think they are re-organizing and not using San Juan as much from what I can tell.

This should be seen as an opportunity for Air Dominicana (once they get off the ground) to exploit that route and others given American's "restructuring" due to high fuel costs (or so they say). Quite frankly its the result of exhorbitantly overpaid airline executives that are contributing to the demise of the US airline industry.

Yes, however, their salaries pale in relation to corporate execs...the airline industry is no longer glamorous and today's pilots and crew salaries are a joke.

I must agree that the problem with American Airlines is that its execs get too many perks. They cry poor, that fuel is killing them however, look at the salaries the executives get.
