Santo Domingo.– Tourism authorities in the Dominican
Republic are carrying out a project to recover the country's beaches to
guarantee excellent conditions for the development of tourism.
In that regard, actions will be taken in seven beaches in late 2008 at an initial investment of nearly 25 million dollars.
The project includes pouring 1.4 million cubic meters of sand and the demolition of some buildings that damage the coastal environment.
The program will benefit Caleta de La Romana, Palenque and Najayo de San Cristóbal, San Rafael and El Quemaito de Barahona, Juan Bolaños and Costa Verde de Montecristi.
Authorities are weighing complementary tourist offers, including the construction of a cable car to Jarabacoa and Santiago.

Good idea lets under the guise of repairing the beaches move out all squaters, turn over the land to the senators for their services and serve the children in school tainted milk.
What a government the DR has makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
is the metro up and running yet
Please accept my appologies and let's push this agenda against the goverment...
