Santo Domingo.– Delta is to implement two new flights between New York's John F Kennedy (JFK) International airport and Santo Domingo and Santiago.

The aviation firm has announced the brace of new air routes will come into force on December 13th. At present the company operates daily non-stop flights between JFK and Santo Domingo which will be suspended until mid-September and return as a weekly service at the end of the year.

According to Christophe Didier, Delta's vice-president for sales and government affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean, the company is responding to the needs of customers who "fly home to visit friends and family" at the Christmas period.

This is probably only going to be for the holiday season to take advantage of those who come home every Navidad. If it goes beyond February that will be something good.

Delta gain is loosing out on earning revenue, by cancelling the Atlnata Puerto Plata route until December. I fly between ATL and POP about every 4-6 weeks and before Delta started flying direct to POP from ATL I was required to fly AA through Miami to POP.
On every flight from atlanta there were minimum numbers of at least 30 to 40 people flying from or through ATL that also continued on to POP, Lost revenue for Delta. On almost every flight Direct on Delta from ATL to POp that I have been on since they started their direct flights, the flights have been full to near ful.
Delta Pay attention to your customers and lost revenue to AA.
