SAN JUAN – Ferry service between the west Puerto Rico port Mayaguez and the Dominican Republic will resume Friday, Ferries del Caribe president Nestor Gonzalez said quoted by EFE.

He said the ship Caribbean Express will sail on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. to the Dominican Republic capital Santo Domingo. “The resumption of service on the Mayaguez-Santo Domingo route ends the seasonal service that had linked San Juan to the Dominican capital since May 1.”

Gonzalez said the ferry will sail from Santo Domingo to Mayaguez at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. “The M/S Caribbean Express carries about 170,000 passengers, 19,000 passenger vehicles and 11,000 trucks annually.,” the company said.
