Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- With the support of tourism companies and other industries, construction of the station for firefighters began in the Punta Cana-Bavaro-Verón area, work also aided by the East Zone Hotels and Tourism Projects Association, the Altagracia Province Cluster and the Puntacana Group
Groundbreaking for the work, considered of vital importance for the zone since the important tourism destination currently has no a fire department, was headed by Puntacana Group president Frank Rainieri and Hoteliers Association president Ernesto Veloz.
Puntacana donated the first fire truck, whereas Higuey’s City Council pledged an ambulance and a rescue vehicle.
The lands were donated by the owners of Manatí Park whereas the Punta Cana Rotary Club and Veron’s Cty Council contributed with the construction.
