Enriquillo...extremely exotic
Zoom Picture

Santo Domingo. - Dominicans will be encouraged to get to know their own country via a Tourism Ministry project “Tourism for all,” which will begin in the next few days and includes massive excursions by families, students and employees of various companies to natural attractions in the north, east and northeastern tourism zones.

Tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia, interviewed by newspaper Listin Diario, said the project includes a national ad campaign and logistics so Dominicans can travel on weekends in as many as 80 buses to know and enjoy tourism spots such as Samaná (northeast), Bavaro (east) and Puerto Plata (north).

He said tourists from Russia, Germany, Canada or the United States often know and enjoy the Dominican Republic more than the natives.

Garcia said there’s a need to create areas of penetration in the national parks, with the Environment Ministry’s approval, to add these attractions to the national tourism.

The official said “Tourism for all” is advanced in the coordination of massive excursions to the tourism regions for employees of companies, clubs, government agencies and organized groups at different levels. “It’s not possible that a foreigner can visit Puerto Plata, Bávaro or Bayahibe, realizes a series of excursions, they know the Dominican Republic and for Dominicans not to know it.”

Enriquillo Lake

Among the project’s attractions Garcia mentioned the circuit around Enriquillo Lake, with its many exotic stops throughout the route, whose most important points would be identified by the Environment Ministry.

LOL Yeah the PicaPollo Styrofoam.

But on serious note, i know People that wish they can go out of the country just to visit, and to get to know other places, but in truth they have never even left there own Providence. These should be good a thing to educate Dominicans on how beautiful there own Country really is.

Usually through the skylight.

My favorite:

If Tarzan and Jane were Italian, what would Cheetah be?
The least hairy of the three.

And a true italian girl with any class would never have anything to do with a Dominican hood Willy like yourself any more than a Classy Dominican women would have anything to do with a Haitiano driving A MOTOCONCHO in Sosua.

Actually , although I am a resident rather than a native Dominican , I have often felt embarrassed about not visiting many parts of the DR ,,,so in the last month I have been to the north west and also to the Samana Peninsula as well as revisiting the San Fransisco de Macoris and Santiago areas ..the first obvious thing is that the roads do not offer much incentive to travel and the road from Sanchez to las Terrenas is in a very dangerous condition which does not deter the idiotic bus drivers and the second obvious thing is that the DR is incredibly beautiful with very pleasant people living outside the main cities and towns . Throughout the Samana peninsula , there were very obvious signs that people respected their district and there was not much litter ,,of course the new toll road from the capital to near Nagua is spotless .
This idea is better than my trip as buses will be used , but I hope the trips can be expanded to the south west also as many Dominicans do not know that area

There is no internal tourism in DR! Everything (infrastructure, packages, deals, transport, etc.) is geared for the internationals. Even the tourist workers mistreat the local Dominican tourists! I like the initiative but we must eliminate the insecurity and we must impart "the love of country" to every Dominican! We know that the National Parks will not walk away but at the rate they are mutilated, we better start visiting them and put our money there!

Yeah you hit the point; however, we do have ecotourism in one way or another, with the exception that, it is corrupt ecotourism. If this is a start to open more doors to the local people, then i strongly support it.

I remember once they didn't let me get into a beach in punta cana just because i was Dominican.
That's sucks. Things should be different and that must stop now, otherwise we will be prevented even to breath our own air.

Perhaps...but first you would have to find an italian girl with class.

Well then Casanova , since Italian women have no class and since you claim to have loved and launched so many of them and refer to them as ''nice treats , one can only wonder just what kind of women you associate with..You just keep stepping in your own pile Mr. Sharpton lol. Instead of spending your time in Spencers gift shop looking for ethnic joke books as all college grads do, Maybe you should look to the late Mr. Cocco to learn what a little bit of Dominican class looks like and then build your campaign to save the nation around the foundation he dug for you.. Next..

I don't know about you but when I was single I never said no to good looking sluts, which in all honesty is in no short supply among your co-ethnics. Now you can stop wondering. Next! LOL
