Santiago.– Spirit Airlines has started nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to Santiago, Dominican Republic.

With the new city, the airline says it now serves 24 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The low-cost carrier also offers service to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Good deal.

Too bad the FLL-STI flight gets in around 3am, and the return flight leaves STI around 4;20am.

Gonna be peeps who lose a lot of sleep to save a few bucks.

Well, the fare is like $140 RT when you buy thru the $9Club....so the party starts on the plane coming down and you're back in FLL in time to make it to the office on a Monday...and NO LINES or crowds when you land in STI...quick cab ride to the hotel, freshen up and....

sleep on the plane... That is what I do with the jetblue night flight. Spirit is great for Santiago they will force the others to lower the prices
