SANTO DOMINGO.- The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) approved 255 new charter flights, 189 of which are for passenger transport and 66 for freight operations, said its president Luis Rodriguez.
Among the airlines whose new flights request was approved is Express Jet Airlines, Inc., that will operate the San Juan-Punta Cana route.
He said also approved to operate were the companies USA Jet Airlines, Inc., which will fly from Ponce-Punta Cana, and Gulf & Caribbean Cargo, for the Aguadillas-Santo Domingo route.
Also approved were the flights for the airlines VRG Líneas Aéreas, S.A., from Rio de Janeiro/Sao Paulo/Caracas/Punta Cana; and Air Meditarranee, which will operate with 14 flights from Paris-Puerto Plata-Milan, Paris Puerto Plata-Paris, and Paris-Punta Cana, respectively.
Rodriguez said the Civil Aviation Board also authorized Aerogal airlines, USA 3000 Airlines, Tame, Ecuador Airlines, Livigston, S.P.A., Air Antilles, Arrow Cargo, Inc., with different destinations including Quito, San Juan, Miami, Milan, Fort de France, and Baltimore.
The JAC president said the agency also decided to hold a public hearing for July 29, on the Haitian carrier Tortug Air’s request for regular flights between Haiti and Dominican Republic.
