Santo Domingo.– The Santo Domingo Merengue Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Brugal Rum, closes Sunday night with performances by Fernando Villalona, Jose El Calvo, Sergio Vargas and Grupo Mayombe from Puerto Rico.

The event, which opened Friday, 24 July at Avenida del Puerto, is dedicated to Conjunto Quisqueya this year and included live performances by Eddy Herrera, Geovanny Polanco, Rubby Perez, Pena Suazo, Banda Real and Omega.

It was indeed, I and y family had a wonderful time. I actually performed on stage, had the females in the crowd going crazy. I sanged a few songs by Alexandre Pires (mi primo) and a few others. We had a blast.
