Santo Domingo.– The National Hotel and Restaurant Association Trade Exhibit opened today at the Convention Center of the Dominican Fiesta Hotel & Casino, in Santo Domingo, an event which is recognized as one of the region’s most important trade fairs, given tourism’s importance to Dominican Republic’s economy.

The program this year includes talks on solar energy, American cheese, power and water solutions, wine-tasting, sustainable tourism programs, outsourcing payroll, new pastry techniques, new trends in Dominican gastronomy, among other.

This is the leading Dominican hotel industry trade exhibition with the participation of suppliers to the industry.

Bet Punta Cana Group didn't attend.

Not so sure this sort of exhibition serves any useful purpose. In a competitive market, compounded by bad economic times, no way would you want to share or give away your secret for success.

I htink this is just opportunity to dance bachata, drink some Brugal, and get some good leads on available women. Oh, I forgot the free food!

Wine tasting??? What wines do we produce? At least Cuba produces a wine...not bad either for the $4.00 a bottle!
