PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic.- The Association of Hotels and Tourism Projects of the East Zone awarded plaques to recognize several hoteliers, officials and people involved in the Punta Cana-Bavaro zone´s tourism development, during the entity´s annual dinner.

The activity also served to raise funds to be donated to the Nazaret School in Hoyo de Friusa, in the community Bavaro.

In his speech Association president Ernesto Veloz praisig the Puntancana Group´s 40th anniversary as pioneers of the region´s development, and hailed the support by Tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia for the Punta Cana-Bavaro tourism destination last year.

Also recognized were Manatee Park, Ignacio Subías as Hotelier of the Year, the producer of the program ““Turismo, Si, Gracias”, Alfonso Dicenta, Tourism vice minister Virgilio Cedano, among others.
