And the tourist battle goes on....after OOOH'Blama's winter wonderland vacation [winter white house] in Hawaii for those tourist dollars. Still the DR ranks the best bang for the buck.

risom,

"bang"

That might be a poor choice of a word given the NARCO crime explosion.

Martha may have you censored!

Yes ,,the Mirror has it right ..Punta Cana is a great holiday destination ,especially for those who are now in the cold time of the year, Congratulations to British Airlines and to the various marketing companies that have been promoting Punta Cana and the DR . The increased tourism there opens much new business and provides a large number of jobs at all skill levels.
There is still a lot of infrastructure to be completed there but the Coral Highway is progressing very quickly now .There are masses of opportunities for entrepreneurs there as tourists are always looking for enjoyable things to do .
Maybe the hotel managers in the Puerta Plata area should come to Punta Cana just to see what is being done well .. Once we have the 5 star resort operating on the Samana peninsula ,this country will be the major caribbean destination ,I feel sure

You may not, but the majority of Dominicans depend on what you call the "small things" 24 electricity, health care and quality education!

At what your God LIE-onel Fernandez has failed at abysmally!

Where are all the gas stations? We are frequent visitors. We rent a car when we come, as we like to explore, and now know our way around pretty well. When leaving the hotel zone for the Punta Cana airport, there should be a gas station on the corner of the rotary to the airport. Right now, you have to travel 15 minutes in one direction, or 20 minutes in the other, just to refill the rental car with gas prior to returning it. Is someone controlling the gas stations??? Can't be good for rental car industry/promoting exploration by tourists, once they know what a hassle it is to get gas...only 2 stations? Doesn't work.

"new investor and more job opportunities for the islanders"

Could you give us concrete examples of this often spoken rhetoric; that seems to materialize only in the minds of LIE-onelitas here on DT, PLDers and their botella affiliates?
