Santo Domingo.- Three commercial flights set to take off to European nations from Dominican Republic faced considerable delays on Thursday as ash from Iceland’s volcano eruption sent the region’s air traffic into chaos.

The delays in departing flights left Dozens of passengers stranded in Las Americas, Puerto Plata and Balaguer airports, while in Europe its air traffic control organization advised that air travelers face interruption for another 48 hours as the volcano continues to spew ash.

Among the flights affected in Puerto Plata International Airport was the Thomson Airways charter slated to depart to England at 4 p.m., but has yet to do so, whereas a charter of the XL airline, scheduled to take off from Balaguer, in Santo Domingo, to Paris, was also delayed.

The only positive thing about this volcano is that the drug dealer are stranded as well, and I'm happy
to see mother nature fighting drug dealer too.
