Punta Cana, DR.– Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club (LHVC), with corporate offices in Puerto Plata on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, announces its second high-end Presidential Suites by Lifestyle product and second resort offering in Punta Cana, as part of a strategic alliance with Spain-based Globalia Corporation.

The new joint product, Presidential Suites by Lifestyle Punta Cana, features 80 luxury, multi-bedroom suites that are fully integrated into LHVC’s member inventory.

The property is located next to Cabeza de Toro Beach in Punta Cana and includes six restaurants, six bars, adult and children’s swimming pools, fitness center and spa, casino, daily activities, nightly shows and nearby golf at the 18-hole Catalonia Caribe Golf Club.

“The success of our new Presidential Suites by Lifestyle product has been incredible since introducing it in Puerto Plata the end of 2009,” said Hans Larcher, Managing Director of LHVC. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to provide a high-end club experience and now in the exciting destination of Punta Cana. Without a doubt, it’s a winning combination for our members.”

Brought to you in part by the Elliott Group!

Globalia won the auction for Sun Village in Cofresi, and paid around US$4,000,000 for the property, now managed by Lifestyle Vacations.

I don't know what are you laughing at liberal mike. I been to a few place owned by LHVC and I think they are upscale. If you are talking about the Oasis in punta cana that is another story. Mike did you go to the one next to the Palladium resort? It is definitelly upscale I suggest you go visit that place for a few days.

Next to the Palladium...you mean the white empty elephant? Yes....upscale sells....somewhere.

What I like in POP is the sleazy TSP;s that make certain that your vacation is hardly that.

Ha Ha Ha Ha! I find it very funny LHVC or whatever. People -- There are NO luxury hotels or real luxury anything anywhere in DR. A very wealthy dominicana friend of mine (who is clueless) and other of their dominican friends thought the Grand Palladium in Bavaro was 5 stars. Oh my goodness - what a glitzy piece of crap that place is. But Dominicans think that anything glitzy is 5 stars. Dominican Republic will Only have arrived once a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton hotel arrives. And, it seems that Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton who announced building - seems to have quickly and quietly escaped from DR. So - just to pass along some good advice - there is nothing upscale in Dominican Republic except Cap Cana at the moment. Do not be deceived by going to one of these glitzy tourist rip off places because it looks shiny. LHVC oh my goodness - rip off - rip off.

Yes that empty place. Had you been inside and take a look at the Penthouse there? If so please tell me it is not upscale. Also I had been to their resort in Cofresi Puerto Plata to one of their 3BDRoom villas and I found it upscale too. Most of their member there are from Santiago.

upscale??that's because you haven't pay 100,000.usd for a unlimited 6 beroom villa and when you book get a junior suite if is available,an the worse is when you have another time share they make belive they bay it from you in order to sell you theirs, guess what you stock whith two...plus that place in puerto plata is over sell, there is not and inventory...upscale ???? you have a wrong definition.

There are no 5 star resorts in the DR! I will say it again! In your limited way - you just don't understand - but "upscale" looking and "5 star service and accommodations" are unheard of in the DR right now. Cap Cana is maybe the closest to this ideal. This is not to say that there are not some very good hotels (Hotel Santo Domingo being one) and good service in the DR - but as I said before there is 0 equivalent to a Four Seasons Hotel or a Ritz Carlton.

jeb21..while I agree with you that there are no 5 star resorts in the DR .there are some wonderful small hotels that are quite unbeatable anywhere else ..for example the Catalina at Cabrera and the Frances, Nicolas de Ovando and Palacio in the capital . Also at las Terrenas and at Baharoona , there are some wonderful small hotels that are lost now in other parts of the world .
Now, francoisahiti..once you start posting positive remarks here on this board , you will be accused of all sorts of ludicrous things including working for the government ..so do not worry about it . They have their kicks by trying to pull the DR down at every opportunity .

Vac...that place has been up for a year now....EMPTY. It also got built at breakneck speed, thus not certain of the actual build quailty given that other "rushed" jobs here have not fared well.

And now...esthetic's....in 10 years the place will look as attractive as all those concrete buildings and schools of the 70's back home. Sure....white on white on white on white is fashionable now, but it has 0% appeal to most here...thus the white elephant.

On another note...NH Royal Beach...a true 5 star??? Really???? A 5 star is self contained...not attached requiring all of it's exclusive adult guests to dine with the family peasants next door.

In the real world of what 5 star is...it is a 2.5...as are most resorts here. The 5 STAR persona has been grossly abused and no longer really has any direction nor should be considered an aid in choosing a resort locally.
