I'm sorry, whoever wrote this, can you please clarify what are you trying to say with the statistics?

"The United States led the countries with the sharpest increase with 60,706"
60k what? millions? maybe women? the increase over what?

Can we add a rating scale to the article? I'll give you an "F" and that is for "fail" to communicate.

Can we also add a rating scale for users understanding of statistics so we could give you a "F" and that for failure to understand.

They should run more ads in women shows/channels. If they can attract the girls then guys will follow. Maybe that's a good strategy to follow during spring breaks and cold weathers in other areas.

But Danny00,

They are paying for services rendered. Call it an Escort fee, from la playa to the motel. Better the guys do this than get into holdups and theft.

I guess the Rent -A-dread crowd that made the 7miles beach in Negril Jamaica so famous have found a new destination of choice.

WTF????

2.9 miliion women in the first 4 months?

Yet add the totals for the first 8 months for everyone and you come up with 123,207.

"According to Central Bank figures of the nonresident foreigners who arrived in the first 8 months, 54,710 are Americas"

and then...

"The United States led the countries with the sharpest increase with 60,706"

So what is it???

Wholy Einstien Batman...what a flustercluck!

When ever I read anything in this publication to do with numbers it is so blatantly obvious that the education system is a complete failure and those in charge of providing these numbers are no better than the girl using a calculator on a 50 peso purchase...trying to figure out how much change to give me from 100 pesos.

"they pay for sex just like the gringo"

A lot of people on this post are getting their laughs from this topic.

But seriously, these so-called sankies (and the working girls too) are bringing in lots of money from off-shore through selling their services to foreigners. All this money is earned in the Dominican Republic underground economy and is not taxed. This helps these "service providers" supplement their income (or non-income) - especially for the working girls, of whom many have children and have been left to support them on their own.

Probably, hundreds of millions of off-shore dollars are earned in this manner every year in the D.R, and it all goes straight into the hands of the people who earned it (and not into some politicians greasy palms).

Who can blame them for earning money in this way.

Those figures don't mean crap. It is just a matter of interpretation. It needs to be studied and analyzed and then and only then can be come up with a actual verifiable conclusion.

Some of you raise hell when they say that Haitians are entering the country illegally to harvest fruits and vegetables and to cut sugar canes, you also raise hell when they say that foreign women tourists are visiting the country.
You throw tantrums for the bad news and you throw tantrums for the good news.
Make up your damn minds. Do you love the country or not ?
