Let's try and be positive.. how about locating it in Puerto Plata and build a decent highway(s) and try to help out that area...Some kind of northern beltway to connect Samana.. Punta Cana and Puerto Plata. It's going to happen sooner or later right?

I am still waiting for the train from S.D. to Santiago, the ski slope near our highest peek, the refinery in Monte Christi, the Malecon in Nagua to be completed, the Malecon in Cabrera to be started and I can name 1000 more if you give me some time to think. Everytime our glorious leader spends our money to travel all over the world with announcements of grandeaur I guess they are on the 20 year plan because since he was re-elected this time the first time not one has appeared.

But, don't let BS abstactions like truth stop you from putting others down who speak the obvious Xwill7. Wouldn't want to pee in your cheerios! LOL

This will make Disney World look cheap because of the high cost of electricity in Punta Cana. This energy dependent business will go bankrupt real fast when tourist won't pay the excessively high entrance fees to make a profit. After all tourists come for the sun and the fun at the beach not a ride they can take closer to home a lot cheaper. The worst idea I have heard yet.
Stupid clueless Spaniards! Must be more dirty money they need to hide in the DR and need a laundromat to wash money instead of making a profit.

These announcements are part of the political media campaign that the PLD is wagging to try and get back the support they have lost.

Mr. Javier Garcia is the campaign manager for Mr. Medina so this type of pie in the sky announcements will multiple every day as we head towards May 20, 2012. These guys are used car salesmen’s, they will tell you anything!

My apologies to used car salesmen.

PC Mike ,,I have hunted all the theme and amusement parks in spanish speaking countries and also have searched company register for Extremo or Extremo Parque and have drawn a complete blank ..also have searched Jiminez and Ballesteros and have drawn a blank ,,,but as these two last names are tvo of the most famous names in spanish golf I have a feeling that there may be more gloss than substance here .

absolutely right. i can just see people from Virginia heading down here, rather than going to Great Gorge, or Disney World. there is NO amusement park in the caribbean that ever made money. Dominicans are not going to plunk down 100 pesos to ride some ferris wheel, and puke on the girl in front. tourists will not go, period. they did not come here for that. this is just the Spaniards looking for a laundromat, once more.

Maybe "amusement park" is a euphemism for "red light district"?
The "ghost-train" and "crazy-house" are already located in Santo Domingo.

Very good comments. One in particular by synapse, "because of the high cost of electricity in Punta Cana. This energy dependent business will go bankrupt real fast" Very well put. I wonder, with such a big dreamy project, why we only see this one reference, article to the proposed plans?

Many other comments are right on. Synapse and others may actually be consultants in some other life.
