SANTO DOMINGO.- A National District Court sent two men to spend five years prison, found guilty of forging deeds of property pertaining to the pristine beaches at Bahia de las Aguilas, part of Jaragua National Park (southwest).

The 1st Collegiate Court’s Penal Chamber found Manuel de Jesus Carvajal Sanchez and Manuel Emilio Reví Rodriguez guilty of conspiracy to forge titles to lands property of Gabriel Acosta Ramirez.

Judges Alina Mora de Marmol, Natividad Ramona Santos and Rafael Pacheco also ruled that the men must pay Acosta Ramirez RD$60 million in damages, as Assistant DA Jose Manuel Polanco requested, for the violation of several articles of the Penal Code.

Bahia de las Aguilas and surrounding areas are currently in litigation, with the authorities seeking to void property titles illegally issued for the protected area during the Joaquin Balaguer Presidency (1990-1996).

In July the Supreme Court declined to send the case to the Superior Land Court’s Central Department, for reasons of jurisdiction.

Sorry, I don't get it.
Acosta Ramirez gets RD$60 million in damages, because some guys tried to sell his stolen property, National Parkland belonging to the people?
"It's mine, your honor, I received the stolen property first. Compensation please!"

“protected status”

What a joke!

In DR nothing has “protected status”

Not our children, who rights are violated every day that the 4% for education is denied to them by the Narco-PLD and its, Capo Lie-onel Fernandez;

Not are women who are beaten and killed and the perpetrators usually go scot free;

Not the public, who are abused in every conceivable way by corrupt the police and military in all its forms;

Not the Dominican taxpayer that taxed more and more and gets less and less every day.

The only things with “protected status” are the “rights” of PLD Political Committee, aka the Cosa Nostra, to cheat, lie and steal from the Dominican people!

Protection by the Purple Gang is the real McCoy.

It's a double zero James Bond license, only better.
