I guess we're open for business, aren't we?

More jobs for the illegal aliens.

I just hope we don't over tourist our Country were only a Island.

I'm all for progress but......with more tourist comes more jobs, opportunities, progress, a boost to the DR economy and bribes, corruption, pay-offs, shake-downs, pollution, trash, environmental impact and rip-offs, swindles and more street crime.

LOL AHH ! Nothing like the rewards of prosperity.

The DR needs to clean up and refurbish what we have before more is added.

Earthly,

Thank you I also agree.....Rosarita beach, San Felipe, Tecata, El Rio Colorado, Encinada, La Bufadora and all of Baja California in 1967 was beautiful.....beautiful NO MORE it's a total dump, I haven't been there since 1991 and never plan on visiting either.

The only thing Mexican there now......is the land, bullets and dead bodies in fact Mexico has a new meaning to their festive holiday DIA DE LOS MUERTO'S".

The first place they should start fixing, is Calle Conde. This is the first street or boardwalk that everyone see’s. If you want middle class and upper-class Dominican’s and the few tourists who are left to visit the Colonial Zone, you better start fixing it up. After this is done you work your way to the side streets. You don’t put “the horse before the cart”. Calle Conde needs big shade trees, not those little trigs you see out there. Nice upscale park benches, beautiful tropical flowers, replace those old dirty tiles with nice turquoise tiles like you see in Old San Juan Puerto Rico, and not the white tiles that look horrible after one week’s time. They let the Zone determinate, so they could buy the properties cheep, but enough is enough. Don’t fix it and there will be no tourist. Years back, you could not see 20 feet in front of you, now you can see from the beginning to the end of the Conde.

FIx the sewers in the Zona first! It is unacceptable to see raw sewage spewing two feet into the air on the Malecon and then tumbling into the bay. Bad ecology, bad image, bad smell, sign of stupidity. I mean all this in sincerity. You have got to fix the sewers or you are going to get one hell of bad reputation with all those new tourist coming off cruise ships.
