New additions to destination wedding and honeymoon offerings in May 2011

Punta Cana, DR.– Delta Vacations announced that the brand has experienced tremendous growth in the Dominican Republic over the past 24 months as a result of increased access to air seats and significant enhancements to product offerings in the destination.

Delta Vacations passenger counts to the Dominican Republic are 12 times greater than the same time period in 2009, while the number of hotel room-nights sold has increased 15 times during the same time period.

In addition, the percentage of passengers on each Delta Air Lines flight to the DR who have booked their trip through Delta Vacations has doubled from this time in 2010. On some routes, such as Minneapolis – St. Paul to Punta Cana, 60% of the passengers are Delta Vacations customers.

“Word is definitely spreading among travelers that Delta Vacations offers the best vacation packages to the Dominican Republic, for the very best value,” said Elizabeth Moriarty, vice president, product development, for Delta Vacations.

“We have experienced tremendous growth throughout the Caribbean, with the DR leading the way.  In the last year, we have expanded our business in the Caribbean by 32%, with an increase in room nights in the DR of 82% to date,” she added.

Delta Vacations also announced the expansion and addition of three new destination-wedding hotels to the LIFESTYLE Collection featuring Romance including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana, Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, and Ocean Blue and Sand, offering both paid and free weddings.

Delta Vacations also announced they will be launching a honeymoon program in early May, which will be initially offered at 10 hotels.

Ricardito - I agree. I think POP has alot more to offer than PUJ but there is no urban planning and a mayor lack of funds.

I was in Cuba and will never go back with the castro boys in charge. Fear and loathing is the theme in Cuba.
