@Roy,

You took some words out of my mouth.

They try to do that in the great state of Alaska as well, fut didn't succeed-thank to protest and overseeing committees.

Why and how was this bridge ever built? To my obviously artistically untrained and jaundiced eye, this structure is subtractive rather than additive to the natural beauty of the area displayed.

What a costly and wasteful shame!

They should make an ecological building there ( one or two of those islands) for locals and tourists alike, such as an eco-hotel, museum, restaurant with a view to the bay or something! to make use of those useless bridges..... DR NEEDS MORE PEOPLE WITH IDEAS/ INNOVATION!

I can't wait till January when there will at least be a chance of the US government wasting my money on crap like this.

Alpha66,

Is that a vailed prediction that Twitt ROT-NEY and your fellow Ayn Rand fruit-cake Paul Ryan are going to win?

Too bad the US Government has to also meddle in this. Omnipresent. Omnipotent.

Vivacuba,
The USA is putting up the funding for the benefit of the Dominican Republic, and hoping to inspire some creativity in this cultural desert. If you are not paying tax in the USA, what's your problem with that?
