SANTO DOMINGO.- American Airlines today celebrates its 10th anniversary of service at the in Santiago’s Cibao International Airport (STI), with its flights between Miami and New York on June 15, 2002.
To mark the occasion American treated passenger to the music of the tradition merengue trio "perico ripiao" and snacks and a raffle for a ticket in every American Airlines flight that leaves Santiago to Miami or New York today, and winner can fly on the carrier to anywhere in the U.S.
American also announced a second flight to Miami during the summer season, leaving Santiago at 1:50pm arriving in Miami at 4:05pm.
American already offers one daily flight to Miami (MIA), a daily flight to New York (JFK), and a flight 6 times a week to San Juan (SJU) operated by American Eagle from Santiago during the year.
"American is pleased to reach this new 10 year milestone of service in a place as important as Santiago and from there take the opportunity to serve travelers from across Cibao," said American Airlines Dominican Republic director Oliver Bojos.
