Santo Domingo.- The prevailing east-southeast wind will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and early evening, especially over the southeast, southwest , Central Mountains and border area.

The National Meteorological Office forecasts a slight increase in showers for those areas by Saturday afternoon.

It said seasonably high temperatures will continue nationwide and recommends drinking plenty of liquids, wear light clothing, preferably color clear, and to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

It issued an advisory on higher than normal waves along the Caribbean coast, where small craft should not venture out to sea.
