Santo Domingo /PRNewswire/ -- The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) and the 2013 NBA Championship team, the Miami HEAT, are pleased to announce their 2013 / 2014 partnership. To celebrate, MITUR hosted a Dominican night at the Nov. 9 game against the Boston Celtics with in-stadium signage, a co-branded item giveaway and a trip for two to relish in a luxurious getaway to Dominican Republic.
HEAT fans had the opportunity to win a trip for two to the Caribbean hotspot. During the in-game promotion, a lucky attendee received an eight-day / seven-night stay at Barcelo Palace Deluxe in Punta Cana, located on the country's sophisticated East Coast.
"Dominican Republic is a popular vacation spot for Florida residents, especially with most destinations being just a two-hour flight from Miami," said Magaly Toribio, Marketing Advisor for the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism. "We're excited to partner with one of the most recognized NBA teams for the second year in a row and are proud to offer HEAT fans the opportunity to experience our country's fairytale scenery, lively culture, delicious cuisine and more."
"The Dominican Republic is like a home away from home for many of us who live in South Florida," said Eric Woolworth, President of The HEAT Group's Business Operations. "Renewing our partnership offers us yet another chance to show HEAT fans everywhere that the DR really does have it all: pristine beaches, a warm climate and festive culture."
