Canada sends 800,000 tourists yearly

Santo Domingo.- The Canadian Embassy’s chief of staff on Sunday lauded the good trade relations with the Dominican Republic, which he affirms is Ottawa’s most important economic partner in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Aladin Legault said another area of good ties is in tourism, with as many as 800,000 Canadian visitors annually.

As to immigration the diplomat said over 30,000 Dominicans call Canada home, whereas around 6,000 Canadians reside in the Caribbean country.
